WHY WE EXIST
We started Canopy because we knew exactly what we wanted to wear.
Canopy was founded in Minnesota by two lifelong watch enthusiasts with different backgrounds and the same fixation: thoughtful design, quality materials, mechanical integrity, and the tiny details that make a watch feel special long after the newness wears off.
We make the watches we want in our own collections—distinctive without being loud, purposeful without being predictable, and built to reward a closer look.

THE BEGINNING
Enthusiasts first. A watch company second.
Canopy began with conversations familiar to any watch collector: what we loved, what we would change, and what we wished existed. Eventually, talking about the watch we wanted became designing it.
That enthusiast perspective still drives every decision. Materials have to earn their place. Details need a reason to exist. And the finished watch has to feel worth owning—not simply worth buying.

THE NAME
A clear view of what matters.
The name Canopy comes from the canopy of a fighter aircraft: an engineered structure designed to protect the person inside while preserving an unobstructed view outward.
That intersection of machine, environment, and human experience resonated with us. It is technical by necessity, elegant because it has to be, and purposeful down to the smallest detail. Those ideas continue to shape the way we approach watches.

Nothing is there by accident.
We are drawn to materials, construction methods, and design decisions that create a reason to look twice. Forged carbon. Titanium. Mechanical movements. Purpose-built lume. Details you might not notice from across the room, but will appreciate every time the watch is on your wrist.
Canopy is not interested in making watches that look like everything else. We are interested in making watches that make sense—then finding the unexpected detail that makes them ours.
